If you follow us on TikTok, you already know a face mask isn't something to use every day. What we didn't get into yet is why we're building one of our own, and what Texas skin actually means when we say it.

What Texas Skin Actually Deals With

Hard water leaves mineral buildup behind on skin the same way it does on hair. Long stretches of sun pull moisture out faster than most routines account for. Dry heat and wind do the rest, leaving skin that can feel tight, dull, or reactive by the end of a normal week, not just a rough one. None of that is unique to any one season. It's just what living here does to skin, year round.

Why a Face Mask Has to Be Built for That

A face mask formulated for a mild, humid climate doesn't automatically work here. Something rich enough to actually address that kind of moisture loss can just as easily tip into feeling heavy or clogging if it isn't built with intention. That's the balance we're actually working on, enough richness to matter, without the tradeoffs that come with it.

A Peek Into How We're Building a Face Mask for Texas Skin

Right now that looks like several small batches side by side, not one finished formula. Different textures, different weights, evaluated against each other in the same sitting so the differences are obvious rather than guessed at. It's slower than picking one version and running with it, but it's the only way we know to actually land on the right one instead of the first one.
